My sickness bomb and Spark, doTerra, and Young Living Comparison

With all the viruses going around, I'm doing what I can do to try to prevent any bad bugs taking and growing in my family. My kids do not go to school, but they are around of kids that do. A couple little girls from our church just came down with chickenpox =/ Immediately I started applying my flu bomb on my kids feet and mine. I take citrus oils daily which is great gentle cleanser.

I have my phone alarm set for every two hours. Every two hours I get my roller where I have made my own blend and apply a few swipes to the bottoms of my little ones' feet. So far, we have not gotten sick. Praying it stays that way!

This is my blend:

20 drops of Shield (OnGuard or Thieves)
10 drops of Oregano
10 drops of Lemon
5 to 10 drops of Melaleuca

I put all these in a  10ml roller bottle and filled it the rest of the way with organic soy food grade oil. Roll a few times on the bottoms of feet and put socks on. That is important esp when applying to a child! They may not mean to but could touch it and get it on their face and eyes. If that should happen, pour some oil, like olive oil, on a towel or paper towel and wipe hands and face. Do not wash with water!

(You can buy the roller bottles at Spark Naturals and if you use my coupon code LYDIANA you will get 10% off your total. )

I have been buying more and more of my oils through Spark. Truly falling in love with this company! I am doing my first ever event in November with essential oils! Really looking forward to it! Originally I was going to represent doTerra but since I feel that Spark oils are very much comparable in quality, yet they give you the price of the doTerra member, without a membership, I decided this is the best company to go with. Its really about selling the product and not trying to recruit members. Still, I LOVE doTerra and they have some blends that cannot be replaced, so I will continue to be a member with them.

Here is a handy comparison chart by createdtofly.net

I have tried Amend and Pure touch. LOVE Amend more than Deep Blue, but not Pure Touch as much. I would ask them to remove Eucalyptus and add basil. I made a roller with it and added basil and like it much better. Just really don't like the eucalyptus in it. So I will buy doTerra Aromatouch, but Sparks Amend.

Oh, I have also used Shield and love it! Doterra's is pretty much the same, except it has wild orange. Shield seems stronger to me, I don't know why, but feels stronger to me. So I will be buying shield instead.

Another one I have used to is Respire and doTerra's Breath. I have to say, here again, I actually liked Sparks more.

I have yet to try the other blends and as I do I will post here my opinion based on my personal use.

Check out the item of the week and don't forget to use my code LYDIANA for 10% off!!!

Wild Orange essential oil

Wild Orange is a wonderful oil to use daily. I will pour one to two drops in about a quart jar of water and drink usually about two of those a day. I do drink water without oils throughout the day too! Wild orange quickly became one of my favorite for it's energizing and mood lifting qualities. I think orange flavored water is amazing!

So far that is the only way I use Wild orange daily. I also diffuse occasionally.

This (below) I will have to try next time I make a fruit salad!

Obviously I have have yet a lot of experimenting to do! Having a three  and two year old and a 4 month old doesn't leave much time for play!!!

Stay tuned as I plan to try the wild orange french toast recipe above!

Amend and Respire Review

Last night my husband, Isaac, tried Spark's Amend EO  blend. It is the equivalent of doTerra's Deep Blue. I have to say I did not really like the how Spark's blend smelled as much as I loved Deep Blue. But I am very impressed at how soothing it is. Isaac, who has carpal tunnel, said he actually likes Amend more than Deep Blue! I'm very impressed with this oil blend. It is VERY soothing and calming. I put it on my own wrist and instantly could feel the oil working. I was like, wow! I am impressed!

So, Amend gets an A+ from me!

Another oil blend that came in the Health and wellness kit was Respire, the respiratory blend. Agian I am impressed! I REALLY liked this oil blend, how potent it is. I liked Breath from doTerra, but I actually love Respire.

I give Respire an A+ too.

I'm so conflicted because I still love doTerra oils very much, but I'm loving Spark Naturals!!!

Plus I love being able to tell you go HERE and put in the coupon code LYDIANA and get 10% off your order!!! I LOVE that!

My Spark Naturals Coupon Code for you!

I got approved! I'm now a Spark Naturals affiliate! I will be using both doTerra and Spark oils and blogging here about what I think. So far my opinion is, two GREAT companies, two very different systems of sale and approaching customers with great deals.

With doTerra, I can back their oils from personal use and experience. I signed up as a Wellness Advocate (It's $35 to sign up, then the annual membership fee is $25, but they'll always send you a free peppermint!) to get the 25% off retail price. About 6 months later ( don't know exactly how long after I signed up) I started doTerra's Loyalty Rewards Program (LRP). With this program you get 10% of the produc t value (PV) which you can later use towards free products. DoTerra gives you 100% back of the shipping cost in their LRP program. So though up front you pay the shipping you get those points back towards more product. In essence getting free shipping! The 10% $$ back will increase until it reaches 30%. So in the end you may very well get doTerra products cheaper than Spark's though upfront it's a little more expensive.

But for those who do NOT want a monthly autoship, Spark Naturals has the perfect system set up with the Affiliate Program. I (or you!) can become an affiliate and make this a business just like doTerra. But instead of having to tell your potential customers that they need to become members, you give them your code ( mine is LYDIANA) and they will get an additional 10% off their total and shipping is free on orders above $55!

I compared Basil eo:

DoTerras is $20.50 for members. Spark is $18. DoTerra gives you back 10%. So your oil was really $18. As time goes by and you stay in the LRP, you get 15%, 20%, 25%, then at 13 months you will get 30% max. So now you order Basil eo and you get $6.15 back, so your oils really was $14.35.

With Spark, you get the 10% off $18. So your Basil eo was $16.20.

MUCH simpler to understand Sparks savings, but I think you can see that upfront doTerra is more $$ but in the long run a great deal. Spark is less $$ all around, but in the long run, a little bit more, but no monthly autoship, no membership, and you can make it a business too by becoming an affiliate. ( click HERE).

Like I said above, I do truly believe doTerra has higher quality oils than most oils you can get at your local health foods. Spark oils, I have yet to try them. That will be the only catch yet!

Still researching here when I can in between taking care of our home and three little ones!

But do check out my doTerra web page at mydoterra.com/eoshappyme. Maybe doTerra's way is for you! If so, can sign up HERE to get 25% retail and be able to  enrol in the Loyalty Rewards Program for great deals!!! (I have nothing but good things to say about doTerra per my experience with them thus far)

And check out Spark at sparknaturals.com and if you shop enter my code LYDIANA for 10% off your order!

Make Your Own Toothpaste

We stopped buying regular toothpaste a long time ago. For a long time we bought fluoride free toothpaste. But I decided to make my own. It's so easy and we LOVE it! Even our little boys! They'd eat it out of the tub if they could!

Lavender

A little Sunday post:

Did you know you can use lavender for a sore throat? A couple weeks ago, I came down with an annoying cold and a sore throat. I thought, I wonder if lavender would sooth this? I was happily surprised that it worked! Later on I read that Lavender is good for a mild sore throat, the blend OnGuard from doTerra ( same as Young Living thieves) and lemon gargled and swallowed, is good for moderate, and Oregano added to that for the strongest sore throat.

I did add OnGuard and Lemon topically on my throat with the Lavender instead of gargled and swallowed, as I am nursing and want to be safe for my baby girl.

This week I had a delivery of Basil and Oregano! So excited to try these oils out for the first time!

But back to Lavender. I never thought I would never want to live without it. From sore throats to baby's butt rash, this is one of my must haves in our home!!!

********************************

Just put in my order for Sparks oils! I was going to wait for the next pay check, but I just couldn't wait! Orders over $55 Free shipping! Wow! Everything I have read about this company has me really excited. They even have an oil of the month club. I'm VERY interested in that!

Happy Sunday!

SO Excited!!!

Yes I'm excited!

First of all I LOVE Essential oils! They have been a blessing to our family. My three year old has asthma symptoms and gets croup WAY too easy. He has been to the hospital three times with respiratory issues. The last two times he got sick, we were able to keep him from going to the hospital and I'm confident the oils did that.
